NWA reveals date and location for Crockett Cup 2020

We now have a date for the next Crockett Cup tournament.

The promotion announced this afternoon that this year’s tournament will take place on April 19 at the Gateway Arena in College Park, Georgia. Tickets will go on sale February 28, with a pre-sale taking place a day prior.

The show will take place on the same day as Impact’s Rebellion pay-per-view event, which will take place in New York City.

Last year’s Crockett Cup event was the first tournament held since 1988. Villain Enterprises, consisting of Brody King and PCO, defeated Royce Issacs and Thomas Latimer to win both the Crockett Cup and the NWA World Tag Team titles in the finals.

The Crockett Cup was an annual tournament in the NWA that started in 1986 and ran through 1988, when Ted Turner’s Turner Broadcasting System bought Jim Crockett Promotions. The Road Warriors, The Super Powers (Nikita Koloff & Dusty Rhodes) and the team of Sting and Lex Luger have previously won the tournament.
