MLW’s Alex Hammerstone reveals torn adductor injury, return date

Reigning MLW Champion Alex Hammerstone revealed on Twitter Friday that he is recovering from a torn adductor.
While not specified, it’s assumed he suffered the groin-related injury in the April 6th War Chamber match that he had to leave early. The match had to be shortened and reworked on the fly and MLW then turned it into a storyline on the recent episode of Underground that it aired on.
Hammerstone was able to work a match against Mr. Thomas for an MLW taping two days later, but has not wrestled anywhere else since.
The 32-year-old said he will be cleared and able to start taking bookings beginning the weekend of May 12th.
So yeah… anyway.. I did recently suffer an injury. A torn adductor muscle.
I’ll be cleared and ready to get back in the ring the weekend of may 12-14 and have the weekend open for bookings.

Depending on the location of the injury and the severity, recovery time can range from a month to 16 weeks.
Hammerstone has been MLW Champion for nearly 600 days. Their next TV taping is set for July 8th in Philadelphia, PA.
