Matt Riddle to miss weekend indie matches after Uber accident

Matt Riddle won’t be able to compete in his scheduled indie matches this weekend.

Riddle was supposed to be in action for Northeast Wrestling in Connecticut on Friday and for North Shore Pro Wrestling in Quebec on Saturday, but he posted a tweet this afternoon revealing that he won’t be able to make it to either show. Riddle wrote that his Uber got into an accident on the way to the airport. He says he has a concussion and some bumps and bruises from the accident but is going to be ok.

“Just wanted to share with everyone that I won’t be making tonight’s show or tomorrow’s show, unfortunately on my way to the airport my Uber got into an accident and I had to go to the hospital and get checked out,” he wrote. “I have a concussion, bumps and bruises but I’ll be fine #seatbelt”

Riddle vs. Brad Hollister was supposed to take place at Northeast Wrestling’s Over the Top event in Woodbridge, Connecticut tonight. A match between Riddle and Zak Patterson was set for Saturday’s North Shore Pro Wrestling Golden Opportunity show in Quebec City, Canada.

In September 2023, Riddle was released by WWE following an incident that took place at JFK Airport in New York City. His release occurred during a round of roster cuts that were made after WWE was officially acquired by Endeavor.

Riddle recently won MLW Battle Riot VI, earning a future shot at MLW World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima.

Earlier this year, Riddle had a 40-day reign as NJPW World Television Champion.
