CMLL announces Mistico out of action due to undisclosed injury

Mistico will be out of action for approximately two weeks after suffering an undisclosed injury sometime over the weekend, CMLL says.
CMLL announced in a press release Monday that the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Famer will miss approximately two weeks after suffering an injury at some point this past weekend. The press release according to Google Translate:
The Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) informs fans that, due to an injury suffered by MÃstico, he will be required to rest for the next two weeks.
Dave Meltzer reports in today’s Daily Update that the injury is believed to have occurred Friday night in Arena Mexico during the Mistico & Mascara Dorada vs. Los Titanes del Aire (Hologram & Komander) matchup.
Cagematch lists Mistico as having wrestled on Saturday at an independent show in Mexico in a trios match, but has no other information listed regarding the card.
Mistico, 42, is in his second run as arguably the biggest draw and biggest star in Mexico, nearly two decades following his first. He was voted Best Box Office Draw and Wrestler of the Year in the Observer Awards in 2006 and placed in both categories again in 2010. The rest of the 2010s were something of a lost decade. After a disappointing run in WWE from 2011 to 2013, he returned to Mexico in 2014, first for AAA and various independents before eventually returning to CMLL.
CMLL business picked up significantly over the last couple of years with Mistico on top, earning him the Mexico MVP award in the Observer Awards in both 2023 and 2024. He also placed second in that category in 2022, the same year he was inducted into the Observer Hall of Fame.
