WWE NXT’s Nikkita Lyons suffers partial MCL tear, sprain

WWE NXT’s Nikkita Lyons has suffered a partial MCL tear and sprain.

Lyons revealed the details of her injury in an Instagram Live post on Wednesday, a day after it was announced that she was being replaced in the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.

Lyons said that the injury will not require surgery, and that she has already begun rehabilitation work on her knee.

Lyons had been set to take on Fallon Henley in a semifinal match on this week’s NXT 2.0 episode, but was replaced in the match by Tiffany Stratton. Stratton defeated Henley, and will face Roxanne Perez in the finals.

Lyons signed with WWE in 2021 after being offered a contract at a WWE tryout held over SummerSlam weekend in Las Vegas. She had wrestled previously in 2018 and 2019 with the WOW promotion, then made her WWE debut on 205 Live on the December 31, 2021 episode. Her NXT 2.0 debut came during the February 22, 2022 episode.
