WWE NXT viewership down, 18-49 demo rating up

The New Year’s Eve edition of WWE NXT averaged 626,000 viewers on The CW, down 13.4 percent from last week. It’s the lowest audience total for the show since December 3.
NXT was taped in advance for the second straight week. It drew a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demo, tying for third among the five broadcast networks on the night. That’s up 7.1 percent from last week but ties the second-lowest rating the show has done in that category since October 29. NXT ranked eighth on all of television in prime time on the NYE holiday, much higher than the show usually does.
It went head-to-head with a college football playoff game that topped all of TV with almost 14 million viewers between ESPN and ESPN2 and a combined 3.52 rating in the 18-49 demo. NXT also faced competition from New Year’s Eve specials on multiple networks.
As compared to the same week one year ago, NXT’s overall viewership was down 18.5 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 40 percent. That’s comparing this episode to New Year’s Evil 2024, which aired one week earlier last year.
NXT will be back live next Tuesday (January 7) for New Year’s Evil 2025.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of viewership totals and 18-49 demo ratings for NXT, as well as the 10-week average in both categories. This week’s show was down 4.4 percent in overall viewers and 6.3 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.
