WWE NXT video highlights: Number one contender’s main event
Keith Lee is the new number one contender to the NXT North American Championship
Lee was set up as Roderick Strong’s next challenger by defeating Dominik Dijakovic, Damian Priest, and Cameron Grimes in last night’s fatal four-way number one contender’s match. Lee will get his title shot against Strong on the January 22 episode of NXT.
The finish of the number one contender’s match was Lee pinning Grimes after hitting the Spirit Bomb.
The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic also kicked off with Undisputed Era vs. Gallus and The Forgotten Sons vs. Imperium taking.
New NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley kicked off last night’s show before being interrupted by Toni Storm. Storm challenged Ripley to a match at Worlds Collide. They were joined by Kay Lee Ray, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Candice LeRae, leading to a six-woman tag match.
Ripley’s challenger for TakeOver: Portland will be decided by a number one contender’s battle royal on next week’s NXT. Johnny Gargano vs. Finn Balor also looks to be set for Portland after their promo segment from last night.
