A wild brawl closed last night’s TakeOver 36 go-home edition of NXT.
Before their NXT Championship match on Sunday, Karrion Kross and Samoa Joe met for a face-to-face segment last night. After Joe called him out to the ring, Kross brought security guards down to ringside. Kross said that they were protection for Joe.
Kross got into the ring and told Joe that he was going to drop him real fast at TakeOver. Joe then attacked Kross and the brawl began. Joe sent Kross outside and hit a dive onto him and the security guards. When security pulled Joe away, Kross fought back and threw him into the steel steps.
Joe sent Kross into a piece of plexiglass and over the barricade. Security tried to keep Joe and Kross away from each other, but Kross ran at Joe and tackled him through the barricade before the show went off the air.
The final build to Sunday’s TakeOver event also included a side-by-side interview with NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai, a Prime Target special feature building up Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole, appearances by NXT United Kingdom Champion WALTER and Ilja Dragunov, and Million Dollar Champion LA Knight punching Ted DiBiase and laying out Cameron Grimes.
