WWE NXT ratings up despite strong competition from NBA and NHL

Tuesday’s episode of NXT averaged 601,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 12.8 percent from last week’s record low. It’s the second-largest audience for the show since April 12.
In the 18-49 demo, NXT drew a 0.14 rating and finished 30th on the cable charts. That’s up 40 percent from last week’s record low and matches the show’s highest rating in that demo since January 4.
Most of the episode went head-to-head with game one of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals on ESPN, which averaged 6.07 million viewers and drew a 2.22 rating in 18-49. The NHL’s second-round playoff games on TNT averaged 1.2 and 1.3 million viewers respectively, with portions of both games also airing directly opposite NXT.
The male/female split for NXT was very noticeable, particularly with younger viewers. NXT drew a 0.24 rating in men 18-49, which is the highest number the show has done in that category since last October. In women 18-49, NXT drew just a 0.05 rating, the lowest the show has ever done in that demo.
NXT also tied a record low with females 12-34 but drew its second-highest rating of the year with men in that age group.
As compared to the same week in 2021, NXT was down 14.1 percent in overall viewers and down 6.7 percent in 18-49.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for NXT. This week’s show was down one percent in overall viewers but up 7.7 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages in both categories.
