WWE NXT ratings down against Trump news coverage

Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT averaged 555,000 viewers on the USA Network, down 11.6 percent from last week. It ties NXT’s second-lowest viewership total of 2023.

In the 18-49 demo, NXT finished 42nd on cable with a 0.13 rating, down 18.8 percent from last week. That ties NXT’s fourth-lowest rating of the year in that category.

The show went up against cable news coverage of the arraignment of former president Donald Trump. Those stations held 32 of the 42 spots ahead of NXT on the cable charts. The head-to-head coverage on Fox News and CNN combined for more than 8.5 million viewers and a 0.94 rating in 18-49.

NXT’s ratings were down in every single demo with the biggest drop coming with women 18-49, which were down 36.4 percent.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT’s overall viewership was down 12 percent while its 18-49 rating was down 7.1 percent.
