WWE NXT live results: Deadline go-home show

With Deadline just four days away, NXT’s Iron Survivor Challenge lineups will be finalized tonight.
Tonight’s go-home show is set to feature a pair of last-chance qualifying matches to determine the final Iron Survivor Challenge participants. Carmelo Hayes, Eddy Thorpe, Joe Coffey, and Tyler Bate are competing for the last men’s spot. The last women’s spot will go to either Roxanne Perez, Kiana James, Fallon Henley, or Thea Hail.
Dijak, Trick Williams, Josh Briggs, and Bron Breakker have qualified for the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, while Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, Blair Davenport, and Kelani Jordan have qualified for the women’s bout.
At Deadline this Saturday, Ilja Dragunov is defending his NXT Championship against Baron Corbin. There will be a face-to-face confrontation between the two tonight.
A six-person tag match will take place tonight with Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable, Otis & Maxxine Dupri facing off against Meta-Four’s Noam Dar, Oro Mensah & Lash Legend.
There will also be a Chase U special assembly with Andre Chase addressing the recent controversy surrounding the school.

Opening the show is a last chance qualifier for the Iron Survivor Challenge live from the sound stage at the Performance Center in Orlando.
Fallon Henley defeated Thea Hail (with Jacy Jayne), Roxanne Perez and Kiana James in a fatal four way last chance qualifier
Perez and James continue their feud during the bout. Shown before this match was an altercation supposedly from yesterday at the PC. During the match, James used her loaded handbag to hit Perez.
NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was seen watching this match on a monitor backstage, and the champ was being stalked as well. She turned around thinking she was being watched, just as the figure disappeared.
The match goes through a commercial break. Perez was outside selling the shot from the handbag for the entire break, as James dominates in the ring. Three of them (minus Perez) execute a Tower of Doom superplex spot after the show returns from the break.
Perez makes a fiery comeback out of nowhere, with her focus on James. They fight on top of the barricade to set up a plunge through the announce desk. The live studio audience chants “holy s***,” which is bleeped on the USA Network. Perez and James sell it big, taking them out of the match.
Matches comes down to Hail and Henley. Hail goes for an O’Connor roll, but Henley kicks out. Henley then delivers a shining wizard, and Henley covers Hail for a pinfall.
Henley wins the last chance qualifier, so she goes on to the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline this Saturday.
NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov is shown arriving to the building. He is well dressed in a suit and tie, but if we are to believe this is live, he seems tardy in his arrival.
Meta-Four and Alpha Academy have some TikTok videos, but I made need someone younger explain what the heck those were all about.
NXT Women’s Champ Lyra Valkyria is being interviewed by Kelly Kincaid. Since nobody can seem to finish an interview in NXT without an interruption, in comes Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez. Vice has a standing contract for a title shot, and she threatens to cash it in on Valkyria anytime. Tatum Paxley interject herself into the argument, which sets up a match later on between Paxley and Vice.
A tale of two Lees (no relation) and two Mysterios
Wes Lee is in the ring for an emotional monologue. He stood with the help of a crutch. A visibly upset Lee starts by saying he was looking forward to beating Dominik Mysterio on Saturday. Lee goes on to thanks the fans for their support. Lee is shaking and nearly in tears as he says the fans’ support will not help him right now.
Lee talks about not having feeling in his legs, and the “excruciating” pain he feels just standing in the ring. He needs surgery to heal. With tears in his eyes, Lee says he does not know when he will return, but just as he “rose from the ashes” to become one of the best champions ever in NXT, he vows to do it again.
Lee says this is not goodbye. “For now, I’ll see you later,” said Lee.
Because this is pro wrestling, the emotional speech then becomes an angle. Out comes NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio to interrupt Lee’s moment. Mysterio gets in the ring while cutting a promo on Lee.
Mysterio remarks that he must have the night off on Saturday, with Lee no longer able to be the challenger. Dom says he is going to “just chill with Mami.” Lee tells Dom to pump the breaks. Lee then throws to a video message from Rey Mysterio.
Rey informs Dom that Dragon Lee will replace Wes Lee as the challenger on Saturday. Rey says he will be in Dragon Lee’s corner at Deadline. Dragon Lee then enters the sound stage to confront Dom. Dragon Lee and Dom brawl and run through some spots, before Dom powders and flees the ring.
Perez and James are brawling again, this time in the trainer’s room. They are separated as they scream at each other about fighting on Saturday. Ava yells at them, and she storms off to get the match booked for Saturday. That would lead to Perez and James being booked in a cage match at Deadline.
Lola Vice (with Elektra Lopez) defeated Tatum Paxley
Vice pinned Paxley after a roundhouse kick.
Baron Corbin is interviewed on his way inside the building, and Corbin says he was Dragunov right where he wants him.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are seen in surveillance footage, and Hayes appears to be plotting something behind Williams’ back.
Joe Gacy is in the front row marking out for Vic Joseph, who is seated at the announce desk. Gacy repeatedly screams “we love you” at Joseph. If they are trying to get Gacy over, it is hard to tell with this new gimmick.
Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis & Maxxine Dupri with Akira Tozawa) defeated Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah & Lash Legend with Jakara Jackson) in a six-person tag team match
The match goes through a commercial break. Arguably the best match on the show so far, with a lot of fun spots. Legend even slams Otis at one point, resulting in a big pop from the live studio audience. Moments later, Legend is knocked off the apron. Otis catches her in his arms, and she is not feeling it.
Just before the finish, Durpi jumps off Gable’s shoulder into a dive to the outside. Back in the ring, Gable traps Dar in an ankle lock. Dar tapped out, and Alpha Academy wins the match.
Hank Walker & Tank Ledger come to Gallus’ pub looking to challenge Gallus to a match. The Gallus group agrees to match with Hank & Tank for next Tuesday.
Ava announces that Perez against James on Saturday will be a cage match.
Byron Saxton hosts a “summit” with the women who qualified for the Iron Survivor Challenge. Each woman gets an opportunity to say why they will win on Saturday. Tiffany Stratton, Kelani Jordan, Lash Legend and Fallon Henley all get to speak. They also get to bicker. After watching and listening, I now have less interest in the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.
Byron gets upset and yells at them for arguing with each other. What else did you expect from a go-home segment, Byron? That was Henley’s cue to get up from her seat and hit Stratton. A brawl erupts as they all brawl, minus Byron. He smartly high-tailed it out of the ring. The wild action of the brawl could not save the segment from being a dud.
Axiom and Nathan Frazer wrestled to a no-contest
This is supposed to be a friendly rivalry, with their story hinting at a full-fledged feud brewing between them. They were just getting started with having a good match, when the women from the Iron Survivor continue their brawl. Their fighting spills back into the ring as Axiom and Frazer are wrestling, resulting in the referee calling for the bell and throwing the match out.
Blair Davenport was taunting the others from the aisle at ringside. In runs a returning Nikkita Lyons to blindside Davenport. Lyons lays out Davenport in Lyon’s return to NXT.
Meanwhile at Chase U, Andre Chase addresses an assembly of students. A dejected student body hears Chase take the blame. Chase U is also being placed during “academic probation” over misuse of funds and gambling. Thea Hail is not surprised, as the riff between her and Chase U continues. Wacky skit for a wacky storyline.
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams tease a rift in a skit before the main event match.
Lexis King cuts a promo on Hayes, in a video posted to The X Formerly Known as Twitter.
Eddy Thorpe cuts a promo vowing revenge on Dijak for attacking him. Thorpe has his rips taped to sell the attack from Dijak.
Tyler Bate defeated Joe Coffey, Eddy Thorpe and Carmelo Hayes in a fatal four way last chance qualifier
This was a good match, and there was plenty of action. They wrestled through a commercial break, and they got plenty of time. However, the fatal four way multi-person match is just a tired gimmick.
Hard to get excited over it anymore. It was cool 20-something years ago, but now it seems more like a cliche. Regardless, everyone in this four-way tonight worked hard to have a good match.
Thorpe was on a roll when Coffey gives Thorpe an Arn Anderson spinebuster on a section of metal ring steps. Thorpe already had his ribs taped, so he greatly sells that area. Thorpe is out, which basically turns the match into a triple threat.
Bate fired up in the closing moments, and he cleans house. Hayes and Coffey both attempt high flying moves off the top rope. Bate mows down both with uppercuts. A lariat on Coffey is followed by a Tyler Driver ’97, and Bate pins Coffey for a three count.
In winning, Bate becomes the final qualifier for the Iron Survivor Challenge. Bate begins cutting a promo after the match, Bate is interrupted by Dijak, since no one in NXT can seem to finish a speech.
Dijak also finds time to assault Thorpe. Referring to Thorpe as garbage, Dijak says to get the trash out of here.
Yet another interruption. This time it’s Bron Breakker. He is then interrupted by Josh Briggs, who cuts a promo on everyone. Briggs is betting on himself, and he vows to shock the world at Deadline.
The studio audience begins chanting “whoop that trick.” That brings out Trick Williams. He gets into the ring and decks Dijak. A four-way pull-apart brawl erupts, and referees and officials pour in to separate everyone.
The go-home segment to close the show is a face-to-face between champion and challenger. NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov and his challenger, Baron Corbin, are seating behind a table.
Dragunov jumps to his feet at the start, and he cuts a promo on Corbin. Dragunov is upset that Corbin made in personal. Corbin brings up that Dragunov left his son to go wrestle here in the US.
Corbin keeps trying to goad Dragunov. It works, as an angry Dragunov takes off his jacket like he is ready to fight. Dragunov calls Corbin a “materialistic son of a bitch.” Corbin responds this is instead about vindication. They are losing me here with all of this hyperbole.
Corbin tries to goad Dragunov into a fight by insulting Dragunov’s son. Corbin turns his back to Dragunov, and Corbin dares him to attack. Corbin calls Dragunov a coward. Dragunov grabs Corbin, but he looks to be more of a hug than an attack.
Dragunov says, “The only one who can destroy the dragon is the dragon himself.”
With that, Dragunov lets go of Corbin. Dragunov and Corbin then have a staredown. The men’s side of the Iron Survivor brawl their way back onto the sound stage, much like a the women did earlier.
The show ends with a wild brawl with all five from the Iron Survivor. In the melee, Bron Breakker spears Trick Williams through a table propped in a corner. Bate fires up just as the show fades to black, as Bate is the last one standing.
