WWE adds Finn Balor vs. Timothy Thatcher to NXT TakeOver XXX
Coming out of last night’s go-home episode of NXT, a new match has been added to the card for TakeOver XXX.
Finn Balor vs. Timothy Thatcher is now official for this Saturday’s TakeOver show. Thatcher interfered in last night’s main event, costing Balor his second chance qualifying match against Velveteen Dream. Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, and Dream will be the five wrestlers in the ladder match for the vacant North American Championship at TakeOver.
Balor and Thatcher were part of the same original triple threat qualifying match last month. As Thatcher had Balor in a leg lock, Dexter Lumis applied his Silence choke on Thatcher and Thatcher passed out.
Lumis has been removed from the TakeOver ladder match due to injury.
This will be Thatcher’s first TakeOver match.
The TakeOver XXX pre-show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time this Saturday. The main card will then start at 7 p.m. Eastern. Here’s the updated lineup for the show:
- NXT Champion Keith Lee defending against Karrion Kross
- Adam Cole vs. Pat McAfee
- NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai defending against Dakota Kai
- Ladder match for the vacant NXT North American Championship (Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Cameron Grimes, Johnny Gargano, and Velveteen Dream)
- Finn Balor vs. Timothy Thatcher
- Triple threat number one contender’s tag match: Legado del Fantasma (Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde) vs. Breezango vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch (pre-show)
