Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes official for WWE NXT Stand & Deliver

NXT’s Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes grudge match is officially set for WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia.
It was announced via Sports Illustrated today that Williams vs. Hayes is now official for NXT Stand & Deliver. The event is taking place from Philly’s Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, April 6.
Stand & Deliver has a noon Eastern start time, airing live on Peacock/WWE Network just hours before night one of WrestleMania 40.
Confirmation of the match comes after Williams appeared on NXT this week and challenged his former ally Hayes to face him at Stand & Deliver.
Hayes betrayed Williams by targeting his leg with a steel chair attack at the end of NXT Vengeance Day this February. Earlier that night, Hayes & Williams had lost to Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals. Williams worked double duty at Vengeance Day, also losing to NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov in the main event.
Though Vengeance Day was the official end of their partnership, it was revealed that Hayes was also the mystery person who attacked Williams backstage last October.
Williams got some revenge when he helped cost Hayes a number one contender’s match against Tony D’Angelo on the March 5 Roadblock episode of NXT. D’Angelo is challenging Dragunov for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver.
Here’s the updated card for the event:
- NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov defends against Tony D’Angelo
- Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes
- NXT Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin defend against winners of number one contender’s tournament
