Trick Williams on potential WWE main roster call-up: ‘I’m happy where my feet are’

While a WWE main roster call-up is his goal, Trick Williams is happy to be part of NXT during an important time for the brand.

NXT moves to The CW Network with its new five-year TV deal beginning tonight. In the main event of the episode, Williams is looking to regain the NXT Championship from Ethan Page in a match where CM Punk will serve as the special guest referee.

Ahead of tonight’s title match, Williams was interviewed on Insight with Chris Van Vliet and addressed how often he thinks about when he’ll be ready to join the WWE main roster.

“I think about it all the time, but I’m happy where my feet are,” Williams responded. “I mean, NXT is on fire right now, arguably one of the better times NXT has ever seen. So with that, I’m proud to be here. I’m proud to be the face of NXT. Why are we going to CW? Why we got the biggest TV deal NXT has ever gotten? Why are we doing this traveling and stuff now? I’m part of it, and it feels good to say, hey, we part of something special here.”

Williams named Roman Reigns as his dream opponent in WWE, calling him “the guy who’s been the cornerstone of the business for a while now.”

Tonight’s NXT is taking place from the Allstate Arena in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. To kick off the episode, the NXT Women’s Championship will be on the line as Giulia challenges Roxanne Perez.
