Tampa no longer hosting May 27 WWE NXT episode

WWE’s Memorial Day weekend takeover of Tampa, Florida has been reduced from four events to three.

Tampa’s Yuengling Center was initially set to host four consecutive nights of WWE shows starting this Saturday and ending next Tuesday, but it’s now been confirmed that the Tuesday, May 27 episode of WWE NXT will no longer be taking place at the venue. The Yuengling Center will still host Saturday Night’s Main Event, NXT Battleground, and Raw as was originally planned.

A new NXT episode will still air on May 27 despite this change.

Ticketmaster notes that fans who purchased tickets to the show will be refunded: “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the
original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.”

According to WrestleVotes, approximately 1,700 tickets had been distributed for the show. SNME and Raw tickets are close to being sold out while Battleground is estimated as having more than 6,000 tickets distributed.

NXT is at the WWE Performance Center tonight for its Battleground go-home show. The top matches set for Sunday’s PLE are Oba Femi vs. Myles Borne for the NXT Championship, Stephanie Vaquer vs. Jordynne Grace for the NXT Women’s Championship, and Joe Hendry vs. Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship.
