WWE NXT’s Sol Ruca returns from torn ACL

Nine months after undergoing knee surgery, Sol Ruca returned to the ring on Friday night.

Ruca returned by competing in a tag team match at Friday’s NXT house show in Crystal River, Florida. Ruca & Brinley Reece lost to Thea Hail & Jacy Jayne at the event.

Ruca tweeted after the match:

This was Ruca’s first time wrestling since April 2023. She underwent surgery last May to repair her torn ACL.

To explain Ruca’s absence from NXT television, there was an angle where Ruca was shown being attacked at the WWE Performance Center. The mystery assailant was later revealed to be Blair Davenport, who also targeted Nikkita Lyons, Wendy Choo, Dani Palmer, and Roxanne Perez with attacks.

Ruca made her WWE TV debut on NXT Level Up in July 2022. She then arrived on NXT TV in September of that year.

The 24-year-old Ruca (real name Calyx Hampton) is a surfer who has a background in gymnastics, competing for the University of Oregon on their acrobatics and tumbling team.

In December 2022, Ruca went viral on social media for her Sol Snatcher finishing move.
