NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament to begin in two weeks

NXT has announced the 2022 NXT Women’s Breakout tournament, and it will begin in two weeks.

Throughout tonight’s episode of NXT, the first participants were introduced. First was Arianna Grace (Bianca Carelli). In her introductory video, she mentioned training in boxing and MMA. Other names introduced were Kianna James, who talked about working in the corporate world, and Slone Jacobs, who said at 19 wants to be the youngest women’s champion in history.

Additionally, Lash Legend mentioned in a backstage segment she was in the tournament as well.

Grace is the daughter of former WWE star Santino Marella. She made an appearance at last year’s NWA EmPower event, competing in the Women’s Invitational Cup that was won by Chelsea Green. James has formerly wrestled under the names Kayla Inlay and Xtina Kay and has previously appeared on AEW Dark in the last year. Jacobs has also made appearances in AEW under the name Notorious Mimi.

NXT has held Breakout tournaments in the past. Last year’s tournament featured talent who are now part of weekly NXT television: winner Carmelo Hayes, Andre Chase, Trey Baxter (the since-released Blake Christian), Duke Hudson, Josh Briggs, Joe Gacy, Ikemen Jiro, and Odyssey Jones.
