NXT UK results: Moustache Mountain vs. Symbiosis

Jordan Devlin defeated Tristan Archer (05:39)

Devlin worked over both Archer’s wrist and arm early, followed by a chinlock. Archer briefly came back, but quickly fell victim to the Devlin Inside.

After the match, Devlin cut a promo and said when he was in Johnny Saint’s office, he told him A-Kid’s carer would be on the line when he was put in the ring with the Irish Ace again. A-Kid’s limped out on crutches and slowly got into the ring. Devlin made fun of him and then kicked both of his crutches away.

A-Kid then stood firmly on both legs, showing that he was fully recovered. He hit a number of forearms and a dropkick and then clotheslined Devlin over the top to the outside. He said he was fully recovered, Devlin failed to put him away and next week, Devlin would have 30 minutes to fail again. Devlin looked at him bewildered.

— Jinny and Aoife Valkyrie cut promos on each other prior to their match later on the show.

— A video on WALTER vs. Ilja Dragunov aired. They had clips of Triple H, Shawn Michaels and William Regal announcing the match for NXT TakeOver 36 last week and a lot of Twitter and media responses to that. WALTER then said he steps into the ring for the honor of this great sport while Dragunov is jealous because he is not in WALTER’s position. He said at TakeOver, he will expose him and that one thing will never change, and that is WALTER being the NXT UK champion.

— Meiko Satomura walked into the women’s locker room. She spoke English and said something along the lines of letting the locker room decide among themselves who would be her next challenger. Everyone started bickering and Satomura smiled and left. A graphic announced Aleah James vs. Stevie Turner as one of the matches that might determine a future challenger.

Jinny (w/ Joseph Conners) defeated Aoife Valkyrie (7:01)

Valkyrie took down Jinny repeatedly with wristlocks early on and hit a sunset flip for the first pinfall attempt of the match. Jinny dodged a spin kick and then Valkyrie got briefly distracted by Joseph Conners on the apron, allowing Jinny to take over. Valkyrie was set to come back with a springboard move off the middle rope, but Conners shook it and Valkyrie crashed onto her head and neck.

Valkyrie came back with a bridging pin but Jinny pulled her hair. They traded surfboard-style submissions until Jinny reached the ropes. Valkyrie hit a spin kick for a near fall, followed by a step-up enzuigiri. She went up top, but Conners distracted her again. This time, she rolled off the mat as Jinny crashed into the corner. Conners wouldn’t let up and got on the apron once more where Valkyrie finally decked him. This allowed Jinny to attack her from behind and she hit her rainmaker-style rolling Liger kick for the pinfall victory.

— Joe Coffey cut a promo on his upcoming match against Rampage Brown. He was shown training hard and said he wanted to knock Rampage out.

— A-Kid was asked about his match against Jordan Devlin next week. He said he would make history and win the first-ever Iron Man match on the brand.

Stevie Turner defeated Aleah James (4:27)

They traded holds early and James showed her athletic prowess. They both scored some near falls until James came back with a chinbreaker and a running dropkick, followed by a springboard crossbody for another close near fall. James missed a corner charge and promptly got taken down with a standing elbow drop and kick to the back. James then hit a rope-assisted flatliner for the win.

— A graphic announced Blair Davenport (the former Bea Priestly) would be in action next week.

— Jack Starz and Dave Mastiff were at the UK Performance Center training for their tag team debut. Starz showed off his speed as Mastiff showed that he was immovable.

Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) defeated Symbiosis (T-Bone & Primate) (w/ Eddie Dennis) (10:54)

Symbiosis attacked Moustache Mountain as they rolled into the ring as part of their entrance. Both men ducked clotheslines, though, and pulled nunchucks from their jackets, sending Symbiosis scurrying to ringside.

T-Bone and Seven started and Seven quickly took over before Bate tagged in and hit a rolling senton from the top. Seven was back in and fell victim to some Symbiosis double-team action. He got worked over for a few minutes and was close to making the hot tag, but Dennis pulled Bate off the apron, catching a punch to the mouth for his trouble. Seven finally made the tag and Bate ran wild. Bate had Primate up for the airplane spin and then threw him onto T-Bone to take both men out.

He had Primate pinned with the Tyler Driver ’97, but T-Bone made the save. Symbiosis gained the upper hand and Primate scored a near fall off a headbutt from the top. Bate held onto Primate from the apron, but Eddie Dennis grabbed him and gave him a Severed Bridge onto the barricade. Symbiosis almost had Bate pinned but Seven made the save. Bate made the tag and then took out Dennis and T-Bone with a dive.

Back in the ring, Seven hit the Seven Star Lariat on Primate for a near fall, followed by a Birminghamer (assisted by a knee from Bate from the top on Primate) to pick up the pinfall victory for his team.

After the match, Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly came out and applauded Moustache Mountain, supposedly to challenge them to a match.

Final Thoughts:

This was fun show with a good main event, which always is the case when Moustache Mountain are in it. The Devlin match mostly was a squash to set up the post-match angle with A-Kid. Jinny and Valkyrie calls for a rematch with Conners banned from ringside or some sort of gimmick or a mixed tag. Turner vs. James was short but both women looked good and should have quality matches with other women going forward.
