A-Kid defeated Sam Gradwell (10:45)

They traded holds early with neither man getting a clear advantage. Gradwell then rubbed his knee brace over A-Kid’s face to gain the advantage, He eventually locked in a Boston Crab but A-Kid escaped and turned it into a cover. A-Kid hit a superkick that sent Gradwell to the outside, then followed with a dive and, once they were back in the ring, a crossbody off the top for a near fall.

A-Kid eventually went for the omoplata, but Gradwell powered out and actually hit a huge suplex as a counter move, then threw A-Kid to ringside. He missed a clothesline off the apron though, allowing A-Kid to lock in a sleeper on the outside, which earned him another suplex in return. Gradwell hit a lariat, which earned him another very close near fall.

A-Kid locked in an arm bar, Gradwell actually picked him up and slammed him to the mat, but A-Kid held on and Gradwell finally tapped.

Aleah James defeated Nina Samuels (04:51)

James trapped Samuels in a wrist lock early on and wouldn’t let go. She escaped a counter attempt, then hit a hurricanrana from the apron to the inside of the ring. Samuels took back over with some kicks and a backbreaker. James came back with a series of dropkicks and a crossbody for a near-fall. Samuels made a brief comeback, but James turned a tilt-a-whirl-slam attempt into  a small package for the pin and the win.

Sam Gradwell sat backstage when Sha Samuels and Noam Dar loudly celebrated Dar’s win of the NXT Heritage Cup a few weeks ago. They briefly got into it, but Gradwell seemed more confused than aggravated.

Aleah James was happy about her win backstage and talked about wanting to keep her momentum going. She went into a room and was attacked by Isla Dawn, who stole her hairband. Still scarier than Alexa Bliss and her doll.

Kenny Williams defeated Saxon Huxley (05:54)

Williams attacked Huxley early, but the huge Brit ran wild on him just seconds later. He threw him around and ragdolled him, slamming him into the mat repeatedly, then nonchalantly threw him to ringside.

Williams came back by jumping up and down on Huxley’s back and spearing his leg. Williams locked in a standing surfboard and further attacked Huxley’s leg. Huxley came back with a slam into the corner, a running big boot and more corner attacks, then threw Williams halfway across the ring.

Huxley hit a running crossbody into the ropes that threw Williams to the outside. As Huxley went to follow up, Williams rammed him into the ring post, then followed up with Bad Luck in the ring to pick up the pinfall victory.

Xia Brookside came to the UK Performance Center and talked about how she would see Sid Scala real soon. A woman walked up to her and said she was already 15 minutes late to training. Brookside said she didn’t have to train with the other wrestlers and had some one on one training sessions, which the woman might not know about. She handed her a note and skipped off.

Mark Andrews talked about his match with Nathan Frazer from last week and put him over. Jordan Devlin walked up and said Andrews made rookie mistakes, talking about another performer during his 30 seconds on camera. He told him to drop the nice guy act and take some notes. A graphic then plugged a match with them for next week.

Teoman & Rohan Raja defeated Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (w/Joe Coffey) (09:31)

Wolfgang and Raja started and Raja immediately got beat up. Coffey was in next and kept the attacks going. Teoman got tagged in, but suffered the same fate.He eventually got the upper hand and Mark Coffey got worked over by the heels, who quickly tagged in and out. Coffey finally managed to dispose of both opponents and made the hot tag to Wolfgang, who ran wild for a bit. He hit a splash from the turnbuckles to the back of Raja for a near fall.

Teoman averted a top-rope axe handle, then smashed Wolfgang’s head into the turnbuckles before Raja and Teoman double-teamed him some more. Wolfgang evaded a handspring back elbow by Teoman, hit a double clothesline and tagged in Coffey, who hit a huge slam on Teoman for a close two count. Teoman and Wolfgang bonked into each other and both men were down, as the referee sent Coffey to his corner.

Suddenly Charlie Dempsey ran out and attacked Joe Coffey at ringside, slamming him into the stairs. Mark Coffey looked to get involved, but was rammed into the dasher boards by Raja. Back in the ring, Teoman hit the Evil Eye on Wolfgang, followed by a jumping STO by Raja for the pin.

Final Thoughts —

  • A-Kid vs. Gradwell was a good match that picked up steam with a sequence for close near falls by the end.
  • The women’s match was more a backdrop for an angle with Isla Dawn it seemed, who looks to be collecting items from women all over the roster.
  • Williams and Huxley was fun whenever Huxley was in charge. He is criminally underused as the big, Brody-like wild man who also is super agile.
  • The tag team main event was decent, with Charlie Dempsey’s interference adding a lot of intrigue for the future. Dempsey is incredibly crisp and great for his level of experience and even him running in and attacking Coffey looked tremendous.

Next week —

  • Mark Andrews vs. Jordan Devlin

In two weeks: —

  • NXT UK Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Rampage Brown
