NXT notes: Off-air results, Dakota Kai, Prime Target special

– Prior to last night’s NXT, the North American Championship was on the line in a match that was taped by WWE.
Roderick Strong defeated Austin Theory to retain the NXT North American title. WWE hasn’t announced when the match will air, but it may be on the Christmas or New Year’s Day edition of NXT.
Shane Thorne also defeated Sean Maluta before last night’s show.
– Dakota Kai tweeted that she received eight staples after the spot where Mia Yim gave her a back suplex off of a production area last night. There were two tables set up, with them going through one and Kai’s head hitting the other.
Kai noted that she’s still set for NXT’s road house show tour in California. It starts in Riverside tonight and ends in San Jose on Sunday.
– During two clips that aired last night, it was revealed that a Prime Target special will premiere on the WWE Network at 8 p.m. Eastern time next Tuesday (December 17). It will build up next Wednesday’s Shayna Baszler vs. Rhea Ripley NXT Women’s Championship match.
Adam Cole will also defend his NXT Championship against Finn Balor next Wednesday.
