NXT North American title match official for Great American Bash

WWE has officially announced an NXT North American title match for the Great American Bash. 

Wes Lee will defend his title against Mustafa Ali on the show. Ali issued a challenge to the champion on last week’s edition of NXT after defeating Tyler Bate in singles action. WWE made the match official on Sunday. 

Lee won the title in a five-way ladder match at Halloween Havoc 2022. Since then, he has successfully defended it 11 times, including his most recent defense against Bate on the 6/20 Gold Rush episode. 

NXT Great American Bash 2023 will take place on Sunday, July 30 from the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas. The only other match announced for the show thus far is NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes defending his title against the winner of Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov, which takes place on the 7/11 episode.

  • Number one contender’s match: Bron Breakker vs. Ilja Dragunov
  • Finn Balor & The Judgment Day appear
  • Stacks vs. Joe Coffey – if Stacks wins, Tony D’Angelo is freed from jail and they earn NXT Tag Team title match
  • Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan
  • Tiffany Stratton vs. Ivy Nile
  • Andre Chase & Duke Hudson vs. Charlie Dempsey & Drew Gulak
  • Bronco Lima & Lucien Price debut
