NXT Level Up results: Josh Briggs vs. Quincy Elliott

Javier Bernal defeated Bryson Montana
This was a nothing match. This was Montana’s Level Up debut. He looked clean enough in the ring.
The match opened with back and forth. Bernal used arm drags to take Montana to the mat, and Montana answered with slams. Eventually, Montana locked Bernal in a torture rack variation; once Bernal escaped, he connected with a bunch of strikes, a dropkick, and a double knee facebreaker. Bernal then pinned Montana to bring this match to a close.
Ivy Nile defeated Yulisa Leon
Was this perfect? No. Did I love every moment? Absolutely. If there is a reason to watch NXT Level Up, it is Ivy Nile.
Leon started the match with an awkward takedown into the corner. Nile stood up, scored a takedown of her own, and immediately turned her attention to the arm of Leon. Leon escaped the hold and landed some strikes, rocking Nile. Leon took Nile back to the mat and tried for multiple quick pin attempts but couldn’t close things out.
Leon tried standing Nile up, perhaps for a suplex, but Nile reversed into a neckbreaker. From the ground, the pair exchanged strikes, building to a standing position. Nile won out but couldn’t connect with anything substantial while standing. Leon capitalized, catching Nile with a scoop slam. Leon tried pinning Nile, almost in a north-south position; this was the perfect opening for Nile, who turned the pin into a dragon sleeper to close the match.
Josh Briggs defeated Quincy Elliott
This wasn’t great.
Briggs gained the advantage early, knocking Elliott to his knees. After landing a punch to a grounded Elliott, Briggs celebrated with a high-five to Brooks Jensen; Briggs hurt his hand because Jensen was wearing a cast. This opened the door for Elliott, who took advantage with some heavy strikes and slams.
After an extended period of Elliott control, Briggs dodged a banzai drop. Briggs responded with some punches and a big boot to rock Elliott. Elliott tried to fight back with a corner splash, but Briggs bounced back with a lariat to win the match.
