Nikkita Lyons set for NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament
The field of competitors for the first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament appears to now be fully set.
In a post-show interview after last night’s NXT, it was announced that Nikkita Lyons will be taking part in the Women’s Breakout Tournament. The tournament kicks off on NXT next Tuesday.
The eight participants who have been announced for the tournament are:
- Arianna Grace
- Kiana James
- Sloane Jacobs
- Lash Legend
- Fallon Henley
- Tatum Paxley
- Roxanne Perez
- Nikkita Lyons
WWE has yet to reveal the bracket for the tournament or any of the first-round matchups.
The winner of the tournament will receive a contract for an NXT Women’s title match. Mandy Rose is the current NXT Women’s Champion.
Lyons was in action at NXT Spring Breakin’ last night, teaming with Cora Jade to defeat Lash Legend & Natalya.
Lyons was formerly known as “Faith The Lioness” in WOW (Women of Wrestling). She made her WWE debut on an episode of 205 Live in December of last year. Her NXT in-ring debut then took place this February.
Lyons is undefeated in the matches she’s had on NXT.
The NXT Breakout Tournament spotlights new and emerging talent. Men’s versions of the tournament were held in 2019 and 2021.
