Following an injury angle on last night’s NXT, Kyle O’Reilly has sent out a couple of tweets furthering his storyline with Adam Cole.

“Thanks everyone for checking in, your love and support truly means the World. I was placed on a stretcher last night out of concern for my neck after receiving a brainbuster on the steps. Thankfully I can move around somewhat OK today but I may need some time to heal,” O’Reilly tweeted. “As much as that hurt and sucked last night, the betrayal was worse. Coming back from this stronger and with a thirst for revenge. Best served cold.”

O’Reilly, Roderick Strong & NXT Champion Finn Balor lost to Pete Dunne & NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch in the main event of last night’s NXT. Cole got involved in the match, shoving Balor off the top rope as he was going for the Coup de Grace. Cole then hit a pump kick on O’Reilly and gave him a brainbuster on the steel steps. Cole hit a superkick on Balor after the match and posed with Balor’s NXT Championship.

Concern about O’Reilly’s condition started to spread online for a period of time last night after a fan posted a picture of O’Reilly being stretchered out after the show and speculated that O’Reilly (who has Type 1 diabetes) had suffered a seizure. Fox Sports’ Ryan Satin reported that it was just part of a storyline and there was no intent to make it look like O’Reilly had suffered a seizure. Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that O’Reilly did not have a seizure.

Cole attacking O’Reilly last night continued the storyline of Undisputed Era imploding, which began when Cole laid out O’Reilly at Sunday’s TakeOver: Vengeance Day event. Cole superkicked O’Reilly when O’Reilly was furious at Cole for laying out Balor after Undisputed Era had saved Balor from Dunne, Lorcan, and Burch. Strong has tried to keep the peace between Cole and O’Reilly.

Cole tweeted after last night’s NXT: “What needed to be done.”
