Kelani Jordan’s first title defense set for next WWE NXT

Kelani Jordan’s first defense of the Women’s North American Championship, plus a battle royal to determine Trick Williams’ next challenger are set for next week’s WWE NXT.

After becoming the inaugural Women’s North American Champion with her ladder match victory at last Sunday’s Battleground, Jordan will make her first title defense against Michin on the June 18 WWE NXT episode.

Michin was granted the title shot by NXT GM Ava off-camera in a backstage segment on Tuesday’s show.

WWE also revealed during Tuesday’s show that a battle royal on next week’s episode will decide the new number one contender to Trick Williams’ NXT Championship.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes announced during his special appearance on this week’s NXT TV that a 25-man battle royal is set for the June 18 show, noting that wrestlers “from other locker rooms” may take part in the match, hinting at interpromotional participation, perhaps from TNA.
