John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, Asuka set for next week’s WWE NXT

NXT next week will feature appearances from some of WWE’s biggest main roster stars.

Bron Breakker will face Carmelo Hayes next week. On Tuesday’s show, Hayes revealed that he had gotten a phone call from John Cena during Tuesday’s show and announced that Cena would be cornering him for the match next week. The show ended with Paul Heyman appearing, not happy that Hayes has been getting advice from Cena. He declared that he would be in Breakker’s corner next week.

It was also confirmed on Tuesday’s show that Cody Rhodes will be making an appearance, with announcers saying he will have a “major announcement”.

Asuka will face Roxanne Perez thanks to a call from Kiana James, who pulled Perez out of the ring on Tuesday’s show, costing her a three-way match that could have earned Perez a future title match. James later revealed in a backstage interview that she cost Perez the match because she did not want Perez to win any more championships. She then announced that if Perez could defeat Asuka next week, Perez would get a match against her.

Next week’s NXT is set to go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite, which will be moved to Tuesday due to MLB coverage.
