Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams set for WWE NXT Heatwave
Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams will meet in two weeks.
A match between Dragunov and Williams was made on Tuesday’s NXT. The two will meet on a special edition of NXT called Heatwave, which will take place in two weeks on August 22. Additionally, Noam Dar will meet Nathan Frazer in a match for the NXT Heritage Cup trophy.
On last week’s NXT, Williams told Carmelo Hayes that he was going to do his own thing and go after Dragunov. On this week’s show, Dragunov called out Williams and the two had a back-and-forth promo. Eventually, they set up their match for Heatwave.
Tuesday’s show also saw Tyler Bate defeat Noam Dar for the fake Heritage Cup trophy that the Meta-Four have introduced in recent weeks. In a backstage interview, Dar pleaded with Bate to give him back the trophy. Frazer arrived and told Dar he would make a deal with him where he would grant Dar a match for the real trophy if he admitted his trophy was fake. Dar eventually admitted that Fraszer held the original title that Oro Mensah lost on his behalf.
