Ilja Dragunov & Trick Williams face-to-face added to WWE NXT
Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov will meet face-to-face.
It was announced that the NXT Champion will meet his challenger on Tuesday’s NXT, just days prior to their match at Vengeance Day on February 4. Roxanne Perez, meanwhile, will take on Tatum Paxley.
After Dragunov was put out of action, delaying their New Year’s Evil match, he recovered and told Williams that he’d get his title match at Vengence Day. While Williams was excited about getting his shot at the NXT Championship, it upset Carmelo Hayes, who has been hoping to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with Williams as the two have made it to the semifinals.
Last week’s NXT saw Lyra Valkyria tell Paxley that them being a team wasn’t going to work out, and instead wanted to focus on defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Perez at Vengeance Day. Although Paxley seemed to understand at first, the end of the show saw Paxley put Perez through a table, upsetting Valkyria.
