Heritage Cup number one contender’s tournament set for NXT UK
A tournament will determine the next challenger for Tyler Bate’s Heritage Cup Championship.
On today’s episode of NXT UK, it was announced that an eight-man Heritage Cup number one contender’s tournament will begin on NXT UK next Thursday. Here’s the bracket for the tournament:
Left side of the bracket —
- Mark Andrews vs. Noam Dar
- Kenny Williams vs. Oliver Carter
Right side of the bracket —
- Wolfgang vs. Sam Gradwell
- Nathan Frazer vs. Teoman
The first-round match between Andrews and Dar will air on NXT UK next Thursday.
Bate is the second-ever NXT UK Heritage Cup Champion. He defeated A-Kid for the trophy on NXT UK this May. Since becoming champion, Bate has had successful title defenses against Jack Starz and Mark Coffey.
Heritage Cup title matches have a British Rounds rules format. There are a maximum of six rounds, with each round lasting three minutes. The match ends whenever someone has won two falls. If it goes the full six rounds, whoever is ahead on falls wins. Matches can also end by disqualification or knockout without the need for two falls.
Wolfgang vs. Flash Morgan Webster in a non-tournament match has also been announced for next week’s NXT UK. Plus, Amale vs. Nina Samuels is set for the episode.
