A former NWA/WCW and WWE event name is returning on next week’s episode of NXT.
WWE announced tonight that the Great American Bash is coming to NXT next Wednesday. This will be the first time WWE has used the Great American Bash name for an event since an episode of SmackDown in 2012. WWE’s last Great American Bash pay-per-view was in 2008, and the name The Bash was used for a PPV in 2009
Three matches have been announced for next Wednesday’s NXT. Dakota Kai, Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae, and Mia Yim will face off in a fatal four-way number one contender’s match on the show, with the winner becoming the first challenger for Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s Championship. WWE hasn’t revealed when the winner will be getting their title shot.
Rhea Ripley vs. Aliyah & Robert Stone in a handicap match and Dexter Lumis vs. Roderick Strong in a strap match are the other two matches that have been announced for next week’s NXT.
If Ripley loses, she’ll have to join the Robert Stone Brand. Lumis vs. Strong will be the first strap match in NXT history.
