Elijah Holyfield makes WWE debut prior to NXT taping

The son of boxing great Evander Holyfield has made his WWE debut.

Elijah Holyfield made his WWE debut prior to Tuesday’s live edition of NXT, wrestling Anthony Luke. Pictures taken from the crowd indicate the match may be a part of the upcoming A&E reality show ‘WWE LFG’, which will debut early next year.

Holyfield is a former NFL player for the Bengals whose career in that sport ended following a knee injury in the summer of 2022. WWE confirmed his signing last month. Luke is also a new recruit with football experience, having played for San Diego State.

Evander Holyfield made an appearance during an episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event in 2007, defeating Matt Hardy in a boxing match.

From The Wrap, WWE LFG will see “existing legends will mentor aspiring wrestlers as they compete in the ring with WWE contracts on the line. The series will also feature behind-the-scenes content of their training process.”

Triple H, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Mickie James will appear on the show.
