Two championship matches added to WWE NXT No Mercy

Trick Williams is heading to No Mercy.
Williams won a four-way match on Tuesday’s NXT to earn a North American title match at WWE No Mercy this Saturday, defeating Dragon Lee, Axiom, and Tyler Bate. The finish had Lee headbutting Williams, who rebounded off the ropes sending Bate to the floor. He ended up falling over Axiom, pinning him to become the new number one contender.
Mustafa Ali had originally been slated to face Mysterio for the title, but was released last week from WWE. A three-way match was made on this week’s NXT to determine a new challenger. However, after Williams quickly defeated Joe Gacy, he walked into Shawn Michaels’ office and asked to be put in the three-way, a request that was granted.
Later, after Mysterio and Dragon Lee had a confrontation, it was announced that Lee would be the special guest referee for the title match.
A four-way NXT Tag Team title match was also agreed to. After Tony D’Angelo & Stacks held a meeting with Bronco Lima & Lucien Price, The Creed Brothers, and Angel & Humberto in their favorite restaurant, a fatal four-way match was agreed to for No Mercy.
Here is the updated card for Saturday’s event:
- NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes defends against Ilja Dragunov
- Extreme rules match: NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Tiffany Stratton
- NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio defends against Trick Williams (Dragon Lee will be the special guest referee)
- NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo & Stacks defend against Bronco Nima & Lucien Price, The Creed Brothers, and Angel & Humberto in a fatal four-way match
