D-Von Dudley returns to work for WWE following spinal surgery

For the first time since undergoing spinal surgery, D-Von Dudley is back working behind the scenes in WWE.
Dudley revealed in a tweet this morning that Tuesday night was his first time back working for WWE since undergoing spinal surgery last October. Dudley was formerly a producer for the WWE main roster but now is working as a coach in NXT.
“This pass Tuesday night was the first time back at work since my back surgery that took me out last October,” Dudley tweeted. “Feeling great and Glad to be back, but even more glad to be back in my new role in NXT. Love working with the new talent now. I thank God for this opportunity.”

Dudley had his L4, L5, and L6 spinal segments fused during last October’s surgery. He was told that he won’t be able to wrestle again following the surgery, but Dudley noted that he hadn’t planned on returning to the ring anyway. He hasn’t wrestled since 2016.
Dudley revealed on the final episode of his Table Talk podcast this May that he would be transitioning to the role of NXT coach when he returned to work.
The Dudley Boyz (D-Von and Bubba Ray) were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.
