Ciampa-Thatcher Fight Pit, Dusty Classic matches set for WWE NXT

WWE has set a new date for Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher’s Fight Pit match.
It was announced tonight that Ciampa and Thatcher will face off in a Fight Pit match on NXT next Wednesday. The match was originally supposed to take place at NXT New Year’s Evil last week, but it was postponed due to Thatcher suffering a minor injury.
On tonight’s NXT, it was announced that Thatcher has been cleared to compete and the Fight Pit match will take place next week. Wade Barrett conducted an interview with Ciampa and Thatcher on tonight’s show.
This will be the second-ever Fight Pit match in NXT history. Thatcher was also involved in the first Fight Pit match, defeating Matt Riddle in May 2020.
Next week’s NXT will also feature first round matches in both the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:

- Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic first round match: Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez vs. Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter

- Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic first round match: Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) vs. Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado
Storm & Martinez vs. Catanzaro & Carter will be the first match in the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
