Breezango become number one contenders to NXT Tag Team titles

New number one contenders to the NXT Tag Team titles were decided on tonight’s TakeOver XXX pre-show.

Breezango defeated Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch and Legado del Fantasma’s Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde in a triple threat number one contender’s tag match on tonight’s pre-show. WWE hasn’t announced when Breezango will be getting their shot at Imperium’s NXT Tag Team titles.

Tyler Breeze pinned Lorcan in tonight’s match after hitting a superkick. Wilde had hit a 450 splash from the top rope on Breeze, but Fandango and Burch both broke up the pin. Breeze was going for an Unprettier on Wilde when Lorcan charged at them for an uppercut. Breeze got out of the way, Lorcan hit Wilde, and Breeze gave Lorcan a superkick to get the win.

Imperium’s Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner have been NXT Tag Team Champions since defeating Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher for the titles this May. Breezango unsuccessfully challenged Imperium for the titles in June.

Imperium retained their titles against the Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish earlier this month after O’Reilly & Fish were distracted by Adam Cole’s confrontation with Pat McAfee.
