Becky Lynch appearance to kick off WWE NXT
An appearance by the new Women’s Champion is set to kick off tonight’s episode of NXT.
WWE has announced that NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will open tonight’s show. Last week, Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the title. The finish of the match saw Lynch pin Stratton after hitting the Manhandle Slam.
This is the first NXT Women’s Championship reign of Lynch’s career. Her feud with Stratton began last month when Stratton mistakenly listed Lynch as a former NXT Women’s Champion. Lynch responded that she hadn’t held the title — yet.
Last week’s NXT drew the show’s best viewership since 2020 and its best 18-49 demo rating since 2019.
On Raw last night, Lynch made her first defense of the NXT Women’s Championship. Lynch defeated Natalya after Natalya accepted her open challenge.
