Stardom’s Giulia wants double title match against Mercedes Mone

Stardom’s Giulia wants a double title match with Mercedes Mone.

Giulia, who currently holds the World of Stardom Championship, told Tokyo Sports that she was interested in a double title match between herself and current IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone. We Are Stardom, the official English Twitter account of the promotion, retweeted the Tokyo Sports article featuring Giulia’s comments.

“Double titles = Double the Moné,” Mone responded on Twitter. “Oh and julia gulia this is my country now b****.”

Both are set to defend their titles at Stardom’s All Star Grand Queendom pay-per-view event on April 23. Giulia will defend her title against Tam Nakano, and Mone will defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani.

The match against Iwatani is the final match of her contract with NJPW and Stardom. However, Dave Meltzer reported on Monday morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Mone and Bushiroad are in negotiations for one more match.

Mone made her debut for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, attacking then-champion KAIRI. She defeated KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle in the Valley the following month in San Jose.
