Stardom’s Giulia issues challenge to Willow Nightingale

Giulia has called out the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.

She issued the challenge today at Stardom’s Sunshine pay-per-view from Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Gymnasium.

Giulia, Mai Sakurai, and Thekla had just defeated Mayu Iwatani, Hazuki, and Koguma in a cage match to retain the Artist of Stardom Championships when Giulia cut a promo directed at Willow Nightingale.

NJPW would later state Giulia’s challenge was issued for the NJPW Strong Independence Day shows on July 4 & 5 from Korakuen Hall.

The main event of Stardom Sunshine saw Queen’s Quest defeat Oedo Tai in a Loser Leaves Unit cage match. High Speed Champion Saki Kashima was the last left in the cage for her team and as a result, was forced to leave Oeda Tai. She was then attacked by her former teammates after the match. Queen’s Quest returned to the ring to help Kashima and offered her a spot in their faction, which Kashima turned down. Queen’s Quest then celebrated in the ring after and Utami Hayashishita apologized for the recent turmoil in the group

The Club Venus team of Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa won the Goddess of Stardom Championships on today’s pay-per-view as well. They defeated Ami Sourei and Mirai to win the belts. May becomes the fifth international wrestler to hold one-half of Stardom’s tag titles. Hailey Hatred, Alpha Female, Bea Priestley (2x), and Jamie Hayter are the others who have done so.
