ROH Women’s Champion Athena to make Stardom debut

While in Japan for Wrestle Dynasty, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will also be making her Stardom debut.

Athena is set to team with Thekla against two yet-to-be-announced opponents at Stardom’s New Year Dream 2025 at Tokyo Garden Theater on Friday, January 3. The announcement was made via a promo from Athena that aired during today’s Stardom event.

“It’s going to be me and Thekla against two porcelain hussies,” Athena announced. “But I am super exited to be here, because this is the world tour, baby. And I’ve been waiting for this my entire life.”

The Stardom event is happening two days before Wrestle Dynasty, where Athena is taking part in the Women’s International Cup four-way. That match will be Athena vs. Willow Nightingale vs. Momo Watanabe vs. Persephone. It features one representative each from ROH, AEW, Stardom, and CMLL with the winner getting a title shot from the promotion of their choosing.

Athena has been ROH Women’s World Champion for more than two years now and recently retained against Billie Starkz at Final Battle for the second straight year.
