NJPW announces lineup for 50th Anniversary show

NJPW has revealed the card for their 50th Anniversary event on March 1.
In a press conference today, it was announced that the show will be headlined by a six-man tag, with Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and the legendary 68-year-old Tatsumi Fujinami teaming against Minoru Suzuki, Zack Sabre Jr., and the 72-year-old Yoshiaki Fujiwara.
Kota Ibushi returns to action on this tour, participating in an eight-man tag on the show’s undercard. Ibushi has been sidelined since suffering a dislocated shoulder in the G1 final on October 21, 2021.
A clash of Tag Team title holders will take place in the semi-main, with IWGP Heavyweight Tag champs Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI facing IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag champs Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato.
In the show’s fifth match, Shiro Koshinaka will return to NJPW in a ten-man tag. Norio Honaga will serve as the special guest ref for the match.
CIMA also returns to NJPW on this tour, bringing STRONGHEARTS teammates T-Hawk and El Lindaman with him, as they will face Suzuki-gun in a six-man tag.
The event will kick off with a pre-show ceremony, and will also include a special ring announcer in Kero Tanaka.
