Mercedes Mone negotiating contract extension with NJPW

Mercedes Mone might not be finished with NJPW and Stardom after this weekend’s show from the Yokohama Arena. 

The final match of her current deal takes place at Stardom All Star Grand Queendom on Sunday where she will defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani. However, our own Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Mone is in talks with Bushiroad about extending her contract for one more match. 

Meltzer said:

They are in negotiations for one more match. Her final match of her current contract is the match this coming Sunday at the Yokohama Arena against Mayu (Iwatani) for the IWGP Women’s title. I do not know if the deal is done, it was not done the last I was told but she is in talks for one more date. I don’t know what that date would be, I don’t know if it would be Dominion or what exactly. That’s where her situation is right now. 

Mone attacked Iwatani on Saturday’s Stardom show. She came out dressed in a hoodie and a mask before delivering a backstabber to her upcoming opponent.
