Bellator MMA News: Eduardo Dantas vs. Mike Richman now a go

The camps of Mike Richman and Eduardo Dantas came to terms and their previously canceled fight will take place as the semi-main event on tomorrow night’s Bellator show.

The #1 contender fight for a shot at bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao was in jeopardy because Richman weighed in at 139.8 pounds, which was 3.8 pounds over the 136 pound limit.

Dantas’ camp attempted to save the fight but wanted a provision that Richman could not step into the cage heavier than 147 pounds, but Richman’s camp would not allow him to fight that light. Their contention: only allowing him to put 7.2 pounds back on would have put him into the fight dehydrated and unhealthy.

But after more negotiations, the sides did agree to save the fight with no weight restriction put on what Richman could go into the cage at.
