MLW’s Richard Holliday completes chemotherapy treatments

MLW’s Richard Holliday announced on Twitter that as of Friday, he had completed his chemotherapy treatments for cancer and that it’s “time to recover.”

In December of last year, Holliday revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was halfway through 12 scheduled rounds of chemotherapy.

He had undergone tests in September following a summer where he battled through what he described as “vicious” night sweats in June and severe dizzy spells in July. After going to the emergency room, doctors noted dangerously low levels of iron and hemoglobin and they believed he was anemic.

When iron pills didn’t help bring his levels back up, doctors ran additional tests where they found out it was cancer. He said his doctors were optimistic for his recovery.

He was last in the ring in June of last year, losing to MLW Champion Alex Hammerstone in a falls count anywhere match that ended their feud.

The 30-year-old is under a multi-year contract with MLW and is a former MLW Tag Team Champion with then-partner MJF.
