MLW notes: Opera Cup semifinals set, War Chamber updates

This week’s episode of MLW Fusion: Alpha saw the culmination of the Opera Cup’s first round with the two semifinal matches being set. Also, some changes were made to the War Chamber match lineups between CONTRA Unit and Team Hammerstone.

Bobby Fish advanced to the semifinals after defeating Lee Moriarty in the opening bout of the show. He will face Davey Richards, who defeated Tom Lawlor. TJP also advanced after defeating Alex Shelley, but his opponent is in question after Calvin Tankman was declared questionable following a backstage attack from Alex Kane and King Mo.

The finals of the Cup will be held on November 6th at the War Chamber event in Philadelphia, PA.

Speaking of the Chamber, changes have been made to the November 6th headliner as it was announced this week that CONTRA had added an additional “soldier” to their team in one of the group’s Sentai Death Squad members, meaning MLW Champion Alexander Hammerstone now has to recruit two additional teammates to join himself, Richard Holliday and EJ Nduka. The CONTRA team currently includes former champion Jacob Fatu, Mads Krugger, Josef Samael, Ikuro Kwon and one of the Squad members.

Also announced is that the five-way ladder match for the vacant National Openweight title between Alex Shelley, Myron Reed, Zenshi, Alex Kane and a wild card participant will air on the Thanksgiving night edition of Fusion: Alpha.

The only thing announced for next week is that the Sea Stars (Delmi Exo and Ashley Vox) will be in action.
