Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti win Mixed Tag Team titles at AAA Triplemania XXX

Sammy Guevara did not wrestle at tonight’s Triplemania event in Monterrey, but he and Tay Conti became the new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions anyway.

Guevara and Conti won the titles, defeating Arez & Chik Tormenta, Kommander & Sexy Star, and Latigo & Lady Maravilla. The finish of the match had Guevara, who originally was replaced in the match by Parka Negra, enter the match and attack Arez and Tormenta with a crutch he was using at ringside. Despite technically not being in the match, Guevara and Conti covered Arez and Tormenta to win the titles for the first time.

Arez and Tormenta had held the titles for 800 days, defeating Big Mami and Nino Hamburguesa at Triplemania XXVII on August 3, 2019.

In a pre-tape promo prior to the match, Tay Conti was concerned about Guevara since he was hurt due to his ladder match against Scorpio Sky that took place at AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday. But Conti told Guevara that she had a plan. Guevara and Conti then came out and revealed Conti’s new tag team partner, Parka Negra.
