Jon Moxley: LA Knight is a success story people should learn from

Jon Moxley believes WWE star LA Knight is a success story that other wrestlers should learn from.

Moxley and Knight were roommates earlier in their career, worked together on the indies, and were once tag team partners against The Big Show on an episode of WWE Heat. While speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Moxley commented on the success Knight has found over the past couple of years in WWE. He believes the 42-year-old Knight is an example of how persistence pays off — even when things take a lot longer than expected.

“The thing I love about it is that — it’s just the perfect example of like the overnight success story that took 20 years,” Moxley said. “People think, in all walks of life, they just have such impatience for stuff. And they give up as soon as things turn hard and as soon as there is challenges put in front of them. Especially in this sport, it’s such an up and down and, you know, nobody’s road is just consistent and good all the time to the top. And they just give up so quickly.

“No matter what anybody told him, he just had his vision and his intention and he just stuck with it for years and years and years and years and years and years and never wavered. And then just all of a sudden one day people think they just picked him up from like out of the blue — like they had a WWE casting call one day and they just hired him. It’s like, no, it took 20 years of eating sh*t to get to that point. And that’s a lesson people should learn from.”

Both Moxley and Knight are champions in their respective promotions right now. Moxley holds the AEW World Championship while Knight has the WWE United States title.

At AEW Full Gear this Saturday, Moxley is defending his title against Orange Cassidy in the main event.
