Nick Aldis regains NWA title at 70th Anniversary Show

Nick Aldis regained the NWA Worlds Heavyweight championship tonight, ending Cody’s short run with the title.
Aldis won the deciding fall in a 2 out of 3 falls bout tonight in Nashville, Tennessee at the NWA 70th Anniversary show. Aldis won the first fall after locking in the cloverleaf. Cody then picked up the second fall after hitting crossroads. In the third fall, Cody slipped out of his boot as Aldis grabbed his leg. Cody cradled Aldis in the confusion, but Aldis shifted his weight and reversed the cradle, giving him the last fall and the title.
After the match, Cody exited the ring and left, stunned and disappointed by what had happened. The show ended with Aldis putting the title around his waist and posing.
This is Aldis’ second run with the title, originally beating Tim Storm for the title at CZW Cage of Death 19 back on December 9 of last year. Cody originally defeated Aldis for the title back at All In on September 1, holding the title for 50 days.
