X-Division title tournament to kick off on next Impact Wrestling

With the X-Division title now officially vacant after Josh Alexander relinquished the title Thursday, the belt will be put on the line in a tournament that begins on next Thursday’s Impact Wrestling.

The first match will see Laredo Kid vs. Trey Miguel vs. the returning Alex Zayne. The tournament will be comprised of three triple threat matches with the winners advancing to the finals at Bound for Glory.

Next week’s show will also see a no. 1 contenders’ match for the Knockouts Tag Team titles as The Influence (Tenille Dashwood and Madison Rayne) take on former champions Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering. The winner will get the title shot against Decay (Havok and Rosemary) at October 9th’s Knockouts Knockdown special on Impact Plus.

Eddie Edwards and W. Morrissey will also continue their rivalry in a street fight. The two were about to come to blows Thursday when Scott D’Amore stopped them and booked the match for next week instead.

Those matches join Christopher Daniels making his in-ring return to Impact for the first time in seven years as he faces Madman Fulton. Daniels made a surprise appearance at the end of Thursday’s show, helping out World Champion Christian Cage and Alexander from a further beatdown at the hands of Fulton and Ace Austin.

Here’s the current lineup:

  • Christopher Daniels vs. Madman Fulton
  • X-Division title tournament match: Laredo Kid vs. Trey Miguel vs. Alex Zayne
  • Knockouts Tag Team title eliminator: The Influence vs. Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering
  • Eddie Edwards vs. W. Morrissey street fight
