Willie Mack becomes free agent as Impact Wrestling contract expires

Willie Mack took to social media Friday to declare that he is now a free agent after his Impact Wrestling contract expired and he declined their offer for him to return.
After last nights Impact episode I am no longer with @IMPACTWRESTLING. My contract has expired and I decided to decline their new offer. So now I'm gonna be doing my thing on the independents. Dave Meltzer is reporting that Mack is no longer there as his contract called for “a huge increase and Impact didn’t want to pay it.”
Mack is now accepting indie dates. He will take on Jeff Cobb on next Sunday’s New Japan Strong TV taping in Philadelphia.
The 35-year-old has been in wrestling since 2006, mainly working indies including PWG and NWA Championship Wrestling. His first “home” was Lucha Underground where as The Mack, he won the Trios titles and held them for nearly two years with Killshot (Swerve Strickland), Dante Fox (AR Fox), and Son of Havoc (Matt Cross) as partners.
Mack made his debut in Impact in 2018 with six matches that year. That continued in 2019 through 2021 as he worked more than 30 matches a year for Impact in addition to other indies.
He won the X-Division title in April 2020 and had three defenses before losing the title to Chris Bey at Slammiversary that year.
Mack wrestled eight times for Impact this year with his final match airing Thursday as he teamed with Rich Swann against Bullet Club’s Jay White and Chris Bey.
