TNA Slammiversary live results: Six-way World title match, NXT wrestlers in action
The TNA World title will be on the line in the main event of tonight’s Slammiversary as reigning champion Moose will defend against Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian, Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander and Steve Maclin in a six-way match.
Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace will defend her title against Ash by Elegance while X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali defends against former champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
TNA Tag Team Champions The System (Eddie Edwards & Brian Myers) defend against ABC (Chris Bey & Ace Austin) and Digital Media Champion & International Heavyweight Champion AJ Francis defends against PCO.
NXT’s No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights & Myles Borne) take on the reformed Rascalz (Wes Lee, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz), Matt Hardy faces JDC, and Mike Santana battles Jake Something.
The pre-show will feature three matches: Knockouts Tag Team Champions Alisha Edwards & Masha Slamovich defending against Spitfire’s Dani Luna & Jody Threat; Jonathan Gresham against KUSHIDA, and Xia Brookside vs. Faby Apache vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Tasha Steelz in a four-way.

Four matches took place as part of the Countdown to Slammiversary pre-show. The results of those matches are as follows:
* Eric Young defeated Hammerstone
* Tasha Steelz defeated Faby Apache, Gisele Shaw and Xia Brookside
* KUSHIDA defeated Rich Swann via Submission with an Avalanche Hoverboard Lock
* Masha Slamovich and Alisha Edwards defeated SpitFire to retain the TNA Knockouts Tag-Team Championships.
The main pay-per-view card kicks off with a shot inside the sold out building in Montreal, which features a bigger live crowd in attendance than any TNA show in the past decade.
Due to a power outage, we join the main card in progress. The opening match results for the PPV are as follows:
* “BROKEN” Matt Hardy defeated JDC with a Twist of Fate off the middle rope. After the match, he hit him with three more for good measure.
* ABC defeated The System to become the new TNA World Tag-Team Champions.
* Mike Santana defeated Jake Something with his Spin The Block finisher.
* The Rascalz (Trey Miguel, Zachary Wentz & Wes Lee defeated No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights & Myles Borne)
PCO defeated AJ Francis in a Montreal Street Fight to capture the TNA Digital Media & Canadian International Heavyweight Championship
AJ Francis of First Class makes his way out for a double title tilt. The cinematic experience-style black-and-white ring entrance for PCO is next for this TNA Digital Media and Canadian International Heavyweight Championship contest.
“The French-Canadian Frankenstein” emerges from his trademark coffin to a rock star reaction from the Montreal crowd. Fans chant “PCO! PCO!” as he makes his way down to the ring. The bell sounds and off we go. PCO immediately charges and dives into Francis to start things off with a bang.
He hits a big spot on the hard part of the ring apron and then hits a top-rope PCO-sault for a huge pop and chants of “PCO! PCO!” from the crowd. He pulls out a table from under the ring as Rich Swann hits PCO from behind. PCO no-sells it and turns around as fans chant “You f*cked up!” at him.
The temporary distraction is enough for Francis to take over control of the offense. He rocks PCO and then Swann helps him set up a second table next to the initial table that PCO pulled out moments ago. PCO recovers and fights back before anything happens.
Francis pulls a trash can out from under the ring and blasts an unsuspecting PCO with it to shift the momentum back in his favor. After some back-and-forth action, PCO throws Francis off the top-rope through the side-by-side tables, which quickly explode into 100,000 toothpicks and wood splinters.
Joey Bishop beats down PCO with a steel chair. He hoists PCO up and hits a Razor’s Edge on the unfolded chair in a spot that looked absolutely awful for “The French-Canadian Frankenstein.” If he’s not injured, it’s a miracle.
Sami Callihan tries to come out for the save, but is attacked by Swann and thrown into the ring, which is filled with chairs, baseball bats, trash cans and other goodies. Swann raises a baseball bat above his head but before he can use it, Rhino’s theme hits and “The War Machine” comes out to a big pop.
He hits a gore on Swann that turns the First Class member inside-out. Fans react big to that and then shift to another “PCO! PCO!” chant. PCO somehow rises to his feet and throws a lifeless Francis back into the ring. He climbs to the top-rope backwards and hits a big PCO-sault, but only gets a two-count.
Everyone in the building bought into that as the finish. Francis hits a blatant thumb to the eye of PCO and follows it up with a tombstone piledriver. He crosses PCO’s arms for The Undertaker-style pin, but PCO kicks out.
Francis calls for the Down Payment chokeslam, but PCO reverses and chokeslams Francis onto a pile of chairs. He climbs back to the top-rope and hits another PCO-sault, this time for the win. After the match, Steph De Lander comes out and joins PCO in the ring.
She gets on the microphone and gets down on one knee. She proposes. “PCO, will you marry me?” PCO says yes in French. The commentators hype an unholy undead wedding coming up with these two in the future.
Jordynne Grace defeated Ash By Elegance to retain the TNA Knockouts Championship
The pre-match video package for the TNA Knockouts Championship match airs to set the stage for the next match of the evening. After it wraps up, George Iceman brings out Ash By Elegance. The reigning, defending champion Jordynne Grace is out next.
The bell gets things started and after some back-and-forth action, we see Iceman getting involved from the ringside area. Out of nowhere, Rosemary comes down through the crowd as the referee ejects Iceman and sends him to the back. Rosemary reveals she has a knife and chases behind Iceman with it.
Back in the ring, Ash is dominating the offense after capitalizing on the chaos outside of the ring moments ago. She stomps on the spine of a grounded Grace repeatedly on the hard part of the ring apron. Grace fights back and hits Shades of Samoa, which is essentially a Muscle Buster, for a two-count.
Grace and Ash head to the top-rope, where “The Juggernaut” hits a huge stalled super-plex on Ash and follows up with a Juggernaut Jackhammer for a close two-count. Ash fights back and hits some big high spots, but crashes on the raised knees of Grace after attempting her top-rope finisher.
We see a big Sliced Bread spot off the top-rope by Ash for a super close two-count of her own. Following another minute or two of back-and-forth action, Grace hits her Juggernaut Driver for the pinfall. With the win, Grace retains her TNA Knockouts Championship in a hard-fought battle.
“Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated Mustafa Ali to capture the TNA X-Division Championship
After the pre-match video package wraps up, we see the “X-Factors” tale of the tape-style graphic flash on the screen to get us ready for our next match of the evening, which features the TNA X-Division Championship on-the-line.
The crowd gave “Speedball” Mike Bailey a rock star reaction coming out, and again when being introduced by the ring announcer before the bell. After things get underway, Bailey jumps into the early offensive lead, taking it to Mustafa Ali as the Montreal fans eat it up with a spoon.
Bailey sweeps Ali’s legs out from under him on the ring apron and then hits a wild middle rope moonsault to Ali on the outside of the ring. Ali takes over control of the offense a bit after that, while dealing with “F*ck Ali!” chants from the fans.
Bailey ends up recovering and hitting a huge shooting star press off the top-rope for a close nearfall attempt. Fans chant “Fight forever!” as the action continues. Ali hits a big super kick to a grounded Bailey that sends him to the floor.
Ali and Bailey end up on the top-rope, where Bailey hits a Super Spanish Fly that sees the two land on a pile of Ali’s Secret Service guys at ringside. Bailey goes for another shooting star press back in the ring, but after leaping off the top, he flips right into a big knee from Ali.
“Speedball” hits a big spot and follows up with his top-rope finisher. He goes for the pin and it looked like he got the three, with the big pop and his theme music even playing. Unfortunately, Ali got his foot on the ropes in time and the referee saw it.
Bailey tries hopping back on Ali for the win, but Ali hangs on. Bailey ends up accidentally knocking out the referee. Four of Ali’s Secret Service guards surround the ring and one-by-one, Bailey takes them all out, only for Campaign Singh to knock him out with a belt shot.
Ali follows up with a top-rope 450 splash. He hits a second one and then the referee, who is still out of it, begins counting, only to be yanked out to the floor before he hits three. A masked man removes his mask to reveal he is Trent Seven.
Seven takes out Ali’s guards and hits Campaign Singh with a DDT to the floor. Ali dives through the ropes to take out Seven. He grabs a steel chair from under the ring and blasts Seven’s leg with it. Ali brings out Earl Hebner, the infamous “You Screwed Bret” referee from the Montreal Screwjob. The crowd boos like crazy. Ali puts Bailey in the Sharpshooter, but Hebner hesitates letting history repeat itself.
Bailey ends up escaping and locking Ali in the Sharpshooter and Hebner calls for the bell. We have a new TNA X-Division Champion. “And Earl Hebner redeems himself in Montreal,” says Tom Hannifan on commentary with an excitement that doesn’t match the 27 years that have already gone by and the 10,000 callbacks to this over the years.
Nic Nemeth won a six-way main event to become the new TNA World Champion
After a backstage segment sees Santino Marella make a match for the post-Slammiversary episode of TNA iMPACT, the pre-match video package airs to set the stage for the six-way world championship main event of the evening.
All six guys stare each other down after the bell sounds to get things started, all-the-while the sold out Montreal crowd is loudly chanting “We Believe!” Moose tries aligning with Frankie Kazarian, but he’s having none of it.
Instead, all five challengers rush Moose and gang up on him in the corner. They knock him out of the ring and then everyone swarms on Kazarian and does the same thing. Hendry hits a big stalled suplex on Kazarian for an even louder “We Believe!” chant.
Nemeth and Hendry end up as the only two left in the ring after Alexander and Maclin brawl out to the floor. Alexander gets some showcase spotlight time, hitting his Kurt Angle-style series of suplexes on any-and-everything that moves.
Nemeth gets another turn for a series of high spots that pops the packed house in Montreal. Hendry takes over and takes control of the offense for some crowd-pleasing moves until Maclin takes over and gets his turn in the offensive driver’s seat.
Moose ends up taking over and he hits a big spear to Maclin for the first elimination of the match. Maclinb now heads to the back and the other five continue until one man is left standing as the TNA World Champion.
Fans sing “Hey hey hey, goodbye!” as Maclin heads to the back flipping the crowd off. Once again we see Kazarian try to strike a deal with Moose. Moose hits a uranage instead. Moose trades shots with Hendry before sending him into the turnbuckles with authority.
Hendry looks for the Standing Ovation on Moose, but Moose fights back and hits a power bomb. Moose and Alexander brawl and then Moose sits him on the top-rope. Moose slips off the ropes, prompting the crowd to get on his case briefly.
He hits a power bomb to Kazarian from the floor to the hard part of the ring apron. All of the guys end up brawling in different spots around the ring. Moose, Kazarian and Nemeth end up at the top of the entrance ramp. Kaz and Nemeth battle back-and-forth teasing a bump off the stage.
In the end, it was Nemeth who hit Kaz with a super kick that sent him sailing off the stage and crashing and burning through a table way down below. Back in the ring, Moose Donkey Kong’s Kazarian into the mat and then chokeslams Nemeth onto him.
Hendry appears behind Moose and nearly takes him out for an elimination, however the champ hangs on. Hendry hits a fall-away slam on Alexander and then one on Nemeth. Moments later, Hendry hits his Standing Ovation on Moose for a pinfall.
Moose is eliminated. The crowd goes nuts as a new champion is now guaranteed by the end of this match. As the action continues, Alexander blasts Hendry with a blatant low blow and then a C4 Spike to pin him for another surprise elimination.
Fans go from booing to very, very loudly chanting “Bullsh*t! Bullsh*t!” Alexander continues to viciously beat down Hendry after eliminating him. Alexander yells about being the heart and soul of TNA. Nemeth ends up eliminating him seconds later.
We’re down to Nic Nemeth and Frankie Kazarian as the final two. Kazarian comes close to finishing Nemeth off a few times, however in the end, it was Nemeth who connected with the Danger Zone finisher for the victory. With the win, Nemeth is the new TNA World Champion.
The reaction from the crowd, who clearly wanted a Hendry win tonight, was pretty flat. Ryan Nemeth, Jordynne Grace, PCO, Steph De Lander, ABC and others come out to celebrate with Nemeth in his crowning moment in TNA. That’s how the 2024 TNA Slammiversary show goes off the air.
